Bu yazımızda ordinal numbers-ingilizce sıra sayılarını ve normal rakamları/sayıları nasıl sıra sayılarına çevireceğimizi öğrenecek ve sonrasında sıra sayılarını listelenmiş bir halde göreceğiz.

İngilizce sıra sayılarını niçin öğrenmeliyiz
İngilizcede tarihi söylemek ve doğru bir şekilde yazmak için sıra sayılarını öğrenmek zorundayız çünkü Türkçenin aksine ingilizcede tarih “14th of March,2013 yada yazıyla Fourteenth of March, 2013” şeklinde yazılır ve okunur. Bunun dışında özellikle takvimlerde ve saatlerde’de bu format kullanılır. Bunun dışında en basit bir şekilde ben ailemin ikinci çocuğuyum demek içinde yine sıra sayılarına ihtiyacımız vardır.

İngilizce rakamlar/sayılar nasıl sıra sayısı yapılır
Herhangi bir rakamı sıra sayısına çevirmek için yapmamız gereken tek şey ilgili sayının arkasına “th” eklemek olacaktır.

İstisnalar:
One- First, Two-Second, Three- Third , Five-Fifth, Nine-Ninth olur.
Sonu “y” harfi ile biten rakamlarda  y   harfi düşer ve yerine “tieth” getirilir.
20 rakamından itibaren (30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100) hariç ilgili rakamın son hanesi dikkate alınarak ilgili rakam ordial/sıra sayısına çevrilir.
Örnek:
21 =Twenty first – Yirmi birinci
36 =Thirty sixth – Otuz altıncı
165 = One hundred sixty fifth – Yüz altmış beşinci
2013= Two thousand thirteenth- İkibin onüçüncü
